Mackmyra Bruks was finished in two different casks: a 30 litre sherry cask and a 30 litre Swedish oak cask, which were stored 50 metres deep in the Bodas mine.
This whisky comes from the Swedish distillery Mackmyra. The idea of distilling a Swedish whisky was born during a skiing trip with eight friends in 1998, when everyone brought a bottle of whisky and the conversation centred around whisky. This gave rise to the Mackmyra Bruk distillery, which produces its whisky using only local ingredients and without colouring. The founders have also immortalised themselves in the bottle design: There is a dent - 'a fingerprint, so to speak' - at the bottom of the bottle for each of the eight friends.

Mackmyra Distillery used to work in an old mill and stopped production in 2011. The new distillery called Mackmyra Gravity started without delay. Today there are Whiskies from both distilleries on the market.

2) Floral mehr Birne und weniger Zitrone als 1)
3) trockener, floraler Rauch mit Süße und waldiger Gewürze
4) dunkle Gewürze eine Spur Rauch im Hintergrund Früchte
Geschmack: 1) frische Früchte leicht sauer mit leichtem Pfeffer
2) Früchte Birne mit Gewürze Pfeffer
3) trockener Rauch leicht Floral Süße
4) Gewürze im Antritt mit Eiche mit leichter Zitrus
Abgang: 1) angenehm, leicht, prickelnd. Nachgeschmack Richtung Fruchtgummi
2) erfrischend, prickelnd
3) Rauch und wärmend
4) leicht trocken und dunkel, etwas Malz
Kommentar: 1) Brukswhisky 2) Mack 3) Svensk Rök 4) Svensk Ek. Insgesamt zeichnen sich 1) und 2) durch ihre angenehme Fruchtigkeit aus, wobei 2) runder ist. Der 3) ist die rauchige Variante, wohingegen der 4) bei mir nicht wirklich hängen geblieben ist. Insgesamt aber ein sehr schöner Einstieg in das Mackmyra-Sortiment.
Habe mir aufgrund des Tasting-Sets auch noch den Björksav geholt.
