Mackmyra Destination, created by Master Blender Lii Johnson, is a non-peated whisky that was largely matured in casks previously filled with port and oloroso. Maturing in a total of four different casks invites the world's whisky lovers on a special taste journey.

Aroma: sehr lecker nach Birnen
Geschmack: weich und nach Frucht , leicht nach Rosinen
Abgang: sehr mild und nussig
Kommentar: Den werde ich mir gerne immer wieder kaufen, er entspricht sehr meinem Geschmack ????

Gut dass ich ihn nicht sofort bewertet habe, ein paar Tage offen haben ihm gut getan. Ziemlich massiv Ingwer vom Portweinfass, viel Karamell, Früchte. Aber zuweilen scharf, und irgendwie unrund sowie jung, merklich. Nicht schlecht, aber auch irgendwie nicht super gut. Kann m.E. mit Elsburn nicht konkurrieren, auch Starward (Fortis u.A.) würde ich vorziehen. Den Versuch war er aber wert, 3,5 Sterne…

Abgang: anhaltende Alkoholschärfe gefolgt von einer leichten Fruchtigkeit mit ein wenig Mandel
