Lindores Abbey plays an important role in the history of Scotch whisky: the earliest written mention of whisky (or aqua vitae) dates from 1494, in the Exchequer Roll of the same year. Brother John Cor, a Lindores monk, was commissioned by King James IV to make aqua vitae from malt. Today, 500 years later, whisky is again being produced directly opposite Lindores Abbey. The Lowlander is partly matured in wine and sherry casks.

Waren letztes Jahr in Coupar Angus im Urlaub und haben eine Besichtigung mit Verkostung bei Lindores gemacht. Eine tolle, kleine Brennerei mit hervorragender Führung zur Whiskygeschichte und dem aktuellen Whisky.
Der ist sehr leicht und fruchtig. Man hat frisches Obst in der Nase und im Geschmack sind frisches Obst und Süße. Der Abgang ist lang, süß und wieder mit Eiche. Trotz der 46% was schönes für den Sommer. Absolute Empfehlung!
