The 12-year-old Caol Ila is part of the Whisky.de Cask Collection, which was created and released exclusively by Ben Lüning and Treffpunkt feiner Geister. The Islay malt matured in a refill hogshead and, after finishing in a first fill Bourbon hogshead, presents itself pure and golden in the elegant glass bottles. Kathrin Haigner, who has already realised her graphic visions for the successful German company Wagemut, designed the clean and clear label for the Caol Ila whisky and other bottlings from the Whisky.de Cask Collection. The new series from the meeting place for fine spirits presents single cask bottlings in their purest form and with the flavourful impressions of Master Taster and Managing Director Ben Lüning. In the flavour profile, sparkling fresh salt flavours from the sea merge with peaty smokiness from the island. Unmistakably an Islay malt despite its initial sweetness.

The Connoisseur's Choice Heritage Collection - Vol. 1 takes up the original idea of the legendary Connoisseur's Choice range and reinterprets the iconic "Map Label" that has characterised this bottling series for decades. In an elegant, lined wooden box, the set combines five exceptional Single Malt Whiskies from closed or renowned distilleries. With maturation periods of up to 50 years, the bottlings showcase the diversity of different cask types, regions and distillation styles and honour the craftsmanship of Gordon & MacPhail. Independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail has been one of the most respected names in the whisky world since 1895. George Urquhart launched the Connoisseur's Choice Range in 1968 to give whisky enthusiasts access to Single Malts from distilleries that are rarely released as original bottlings. Whisky author Charles MacLean called him "the father of the Single Malt Whisky" for good reason.
