This 18-year-old Glenallachie matured in American oak casks and ex-sherry casks (Pedro Ximenénz and Oloroso). Under the direction of Billy Walker, the former Master Distiller of other famous distilleries, Glenallachie has been given a new lease of life. A total of 4 different bottlings have now been created for the new Core Range. Uncoloured, non-chill-filtered and matured in a wide variety of cask types.
With the current bottlings, the focus has been maintained on the higher proportion of sherry casks and a new design has been created for the bottle labels and outer packaging.

Aroma: Eine würzige Sherry-Harmonie: Viele Trockenfrüchte (z. B. Datteln, Feigen, Orange, ...), Weintrauben, Zimt, Kirschen, Karamell, Nüße, usw.
Sehr harmonisch, aromreich und komplex.
Geschmack: Voll, intensiv und tief: Rosinen bzw. Sultaninne mit dunklen Karamell/Schokolade.
Abgang: Mittel bis lang. Die 18-jährige Eiche zeigt sich von ihrer besten Seite: Viel Kakao, Zartbitterschokolade, Butterkaramell und Kirschmarmelade.
Kommentar: Ein überragender Speysider! Der Preis ist hoch, aber die Qualität, Fassauswahl, Alter, Geschmack, Aromen: Das ist Billy Walker und sein Team!!! Bei einem Glenallachie vom Kernsortiment oder Sondereditionen kann man nicht viel falsch machen: Immer eine gute Enscheidung!
