The Maritime Release series from the Irish distillery West Cork is a special edition comprising four bottlings. The mouth-blown 0.7 litre bottles are reminiscent of floating balls, which were once used as buoyancy for fishing nets. After initial maturation in bourbon casks, the triple-distilled Irish Single Malts each receive a different finish and are then bottled at 46% vol. at drinking strength, neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

The West Cork Distillery is located, as the name suggests, in the west of Cork in Ireland. In 2003, the distillery was established by three childhood friends without the prospect of much success. But the distillery turned out better than expected: today, more than 100 people, most of them from Cork, work there to produce and market Whiskeys, Gins and Vodka.

Jung, wenig komplex, etwas sprittig. Der einzige Grund für den höheren Preis im Vergleich zu erhältlichen ähnlichen Abfüllungen neben dem erhöhten Alkoholgehalt scheint die exklusive Flaschenform zu sein. Wird ganz sicher nicht nachgekauft.
