West Cork Irish Stout is a triple-distilled blend of Malt and Grain whiskey, matured in first-fill bourbon casks and finished in casks previously used for stout (strong beer) from Black's Brewery in Kinsale in the south of Ireland. In 2003, three friends founded one of Ireland's few independent distilleries - West Cork Distillers.

The West Cork Distillery is located, as the name suggests, in the west of Cork in Ireland. In 2003, the distillery was established by three childhood friends without the prospect of much success. But the distillery turned out better than expected: today, more than 100 people, most of them from Cork, work there to produce and market Whiskeys, Gins and Vodka.

Kommentar: Nachdem mich der Calvados Cask Finisch vielleicht etwas enttäuscht hat, war ich von diesem Irish Stout angenehm überrascht.
Für das geschätzt doch recht junge Alter ein sehr runder, malziger Whisky ohne alkoholische Schärfe.
Aroma mit deutlicher Biernote, malzig und süß im Geschmack.
