This 8-year-old Talisker Single Malt from the oldest still-operating whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye was bottled for the 2024 Special Releases. Under the motto 'what if', this year's bottlings from the 'Spirited Exchange Second Edition' represent whisky craftsmanship combined with a high degree of creativity. Different flavours are presented through different and special cask compositions. The special releases guide tasters, whisky fans and Single Malt Whisky collectors through rare bottlings, rich flavour profiles and their own imagination. The Talisker was matured in American oak refill and ex-Bourbon casks before being finished in stone-spun American oak casks. The process, inspired by the swirling motion of the ocean, involves the powerful rotation of stone against wood, wearing away the layer of wood inside the cask with stones and water. This characterful and malty whisky from the Isle of Skye was bottled at natural cask strength. The elaborately designed outer packaging makes the limited special bottlings ideal as a collector's item or gift.

The Talisker Distillery is one of Scotland's best-known distilleries and is spectacularly located on the shores of Loch Harport on the Isle of Skye. Until 2017, it was the only distillery on the island and represents the rugged character of the coast with every drop. As part of the Classic Malts of Scotland, Talisker has achieved worldwide fame. Its Whiskies are influenced by maritime flavours, salty freshness and a characteristic hint of pepper. For lovers of Single Malts with a coastal character, Talisker is an absolute must.

Alexanderop 06.12.2025Aroma: exterm fruchtig, Äpfel, Birnen, Mirabellen, Pfirsisch, ölig, wenig Rauch, ohne Wasser Alkohol sehr gut eingebunden,
mit Wasser öffnet er sich deutlich, leichte Würzigkeit, nach längerem Stehen zarte Vanille
Geschmack: sehr süß, cremig, Obstkorb, angenehme Würze, mit Wasser nimmt die Würze deutlich zu, starkes Prickeln auf der Zunge, pfeffrig
Abgang: lang anhaltende Würze, Bourbonvanille, zarter Rauch, am leeren Glas deutlicher Rauch und frische Eiche
Kommentar: sehr interessante Abfüllung, erinnert an den Oban "Orchard Fruits" aus dem gleichen Jahrgang, untypischer Talisker -

Kommentar: Leider ganz anders als der alte 57° North, der meiner Meinung nach deutlich interessanter war. Es fehlt mir der Chili Catch und die früher für Talisker typische Würzigkeit. Alles in allem eher eine unrunde Sache. In der Nase noch top, auf der Zunge doch eher dünn, im Abgang leider eher der Alkohol dominierend. Wird mit der Beigabe von Wasser tendenziell schlimmer, auf 40% herunter verdünnt hat er was von einem rauchigen Vodka. Ob man das will, darf jeder selbst entscheiden, meiner Meinung nach dafür jedoch zu teuer.
