The Ben Nevis First Fill PX Quarter Casks is part of the Best Dram series from Michel Reick, the whisky ambassador at Kirsch Import. As an independent bottler, Reick selects his best drams personally and locally in Scotland's whisky regions and bottles them as single casks at natural cask strength, neither chill-filtered nor coloured. This Ben Nevis single malt whisky was distilled in 2015 and matured entirely in a first-fill Pedro Ximenez Quarter Cask. Due to the smaller cask size, the liquid has more contact with the wood of the cask and matures more intensively. Michel Reick is also known for his other series Scotch Universe, The Whisky Druid and The Old Friend series and is a true great in the whisky industry.

Aroma: Auf dunkle Schokolade, geröstete Mandeln und einen Hauch von Spekulatius folgen dunkle Früchte und eingelegte Pflaumen.
Geschmack: Zunächst sämig, dann kraftvoller und dreckiger werdend. Dunkle Aromen von kräftiger Zartbitterschokolade treffen auf geröstete Mandeln, eingelegte Pflaumen und karamellisierten Rohrzucker. Leicht trocken werdend.
Abgang: Dunkel und langanhaltend mit feiner Würze.
Geschmack: Zunächst sämig, dann kraftvoller und dreckiger werdend. Dunkle Aromen von kräftiger Zartbitterschokolade treffen auf geröstete Mandeln, eingelegte Pflaumen und karamellisierten Rohrzucker. Leicht trocken werdend.
