Beschrijving van het product
1770 Glasgow comes from the Scottish city of the same name. The Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 2014 and is the first single malt distillery in Glasgow since 1902. Following the old tradition, single malt is now once again produced there from Scottish barley and water from Loch Katrine. The Fresh and Fruity Edition of 1770 Glasgow was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and then finished in fresh white oak casks.

Aroma: Mint Heather Zitrus Fruit Caramel Vanilla Minzig frischer Antritt. Eine Mischung irgendwo aus blühendem Lavendel, Zitrusfrische und hellen Früchten. Wenn sich die Nase dran gewöhnt hat, kann man auch süßes Toffee und Vanillenschote finden. Der Alkohol ist nicht ganz optimal eingebunden oder ist es vielleicht doch nur die ungestüme Jugend?

Geschmack: Sweet Malt Spices Ginger Nutmeg Sehr süß, sehr malzig. Gewürze prickeln am Gaumen, ein wenig Schärfe von Ingwer und Muskat.

Abgang: Sweet Spices Herb Oak Süßer und würziger Ausklang. Trockener werdend, geht in eine leicht herbe Bitterkeit über.

Kommentar: für einen so jungen Whisky überraschend gut und angenehm zu trinken. Was sich aber nicht verbergen lässt, sind die Jugend und auch der Einfluss der Virgin Oak Fässer. Wer das beides nicht mag, sollte das hier wohl lieber stehen lassen. Preis ist für heutige Verhältnisse in Ordnung.
