The Tullibardine Marquess Collection honours famous historical figures who held the title Marquess of Tullibardine. The first bottlings are dedicated to Sir William Murray (1705-1793), the second Marquess of Tullibardine.
This edition, a Single Malt from the 2008 vintage, was matured entirely in first-fill American oak casks.

Tullibardine is actually not the oldest Scottish Distillery but regarding the first step of the Whisky production it is one of the Methuselahs of the business: The visit of King James 4th of Scotland of the local brewery situated here before is known as the first recorded purchase of Beer. That was in 1488, long before in 1949 the first spirit was distilled here at Tullibardine in Perthshire. read more

Kommentar: Relativ wenig Power, trotz Fassstärke; die Aromen kommen und gehen und man muss sich echt anstrengen sie wieder zu finden; fehlende Konstanz ... fast schon eindimensional... vllt einfach ein Batch das nicht so stark war ... schade


Update: Vierte Runde und die Flasche hat nun mittlerweile etwas Sauerstoff abbekommen. Das tut ihm sehr sehr gut.

Nun entwickeln sich wirklich schöne Aromen; Honigmelone trifft auf Vanillecreme und süße Gewürze; sirupartig süßer Geschmack; helle Früchte, Gewürze und ein Hauch Eiche. Jetzt fängt er an mir zu gefallen...
