Aroma The sherry casks give this old malt a fruity aroma of plums and berries. In addition, caramel aromas combine with delicate smoke. The long maturation time of the sherry and ex-bourbon casks used leads to very complex aromas.
Taste This malt is smooth and full on the tongue. Then light smoke appears, which develops in the direction of strong, aromatic oils.
Finish The finish is strong, long and peppery-spicy! Just as we know it from the Talisker distillery. In addition, leather, oak and marine aromas appear.

Product description
Talisker 18 year old comes from the Isle of Skye, which is one of the most northerly whisky regions in Scotland. The Talisker distillery has been the only distillery on the island since the early 19th century and has always been known for its whiskies with a maritime flavour and fine smokiness. The island's harsh climate, salty air and proximity to the sea have a significant influence on the maturation process and contribute to the typical coastal characteristics of the whisky. For the 18-year-old Talisker single malt, both ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak and ex-sherry casks made from European oak are used. This combination ensures a balanced combination of structure, depth and mild flavour. While the bourbon casks lend the whisky soft vanilla and woody tones, the sherry casks add more body and a subtle fruity complexity. The long maturation period allows the distillate to develop fully and embed its smoky base note in a harmonious overall picture. What is special about this Talisker is the balance between intensity, cask types and maturation time. Distillation takes place in characteristic, slightly pear-shaped stills, which are responsible for the strong yet oily style of Talisker. Combined with the careful and harmonious selection of casks and the long maturation period, the result is a Single Malt Whisky that elegantly reflects the characteristics of the Isle of Skye.
