Aroma Fruity notes of sultanas, mandarins, peaches and candied biscuit dough meet spicy accents of oak and some toffee.
Taste Complex, fruity and marked by vanilla and caramel, aromas of prunes, toffee and tangerines follow with subtle oak spice.
Finish Medium length with again fruity facets and pleasant spiciness.

Product description
Made from regional barley malt, fresh mountain spring water and pure cultured yeast, the Elsburn Distillery Edition is double distilled on Pot Stills and matured 100% in First Fill Sherry Casks from Jerez. The Elsburn Distillery's Single Malts are produced entirely by hand. The fourth batch of the Distillery Edition from the Harz-based distillery is bottled uncoloured and not chill-filtered at 45.9% cask strength.

Kommentar: Bisher habe ich einen großen Bogen um deutschen Whisky gemacht. Aber die Eckdaten von diesem Elsburn haben mich neugierig gemacht und ich bin das Risiko eingegangen. Es hat sich gelohnt. Ein süffiger und ausgewogener Whisky der mich angenehm überrascht hat. Wird nicht mein letzter von Elsburn sein.
Einen negativen Punktgibt es doch, die billige Pappschachtel. Bei dem Preis sollte eine stabilere Verpackung möglich sein.
