Taste Rich sherry notes with vanilla, brown sugar, red apple and hints of dried fruit.
Finish Long and warming with dried apricot and fruity accents of dates, soft spices and apple compote.

Tamdhu is owned by independent bottler Ian Macleod. This 18-year-old Single Malt matured entirely in Spanish oloroso sherry casks, which is reflected in the Taste and its strong colour. The elegant glass bottle is reminiscent of the Victorian era.

Situated at Knockando in the center of the Speyside the Tamdhu Distillery managed to survive difficult years of economical ups and downs. This is due to the status of Tamdhu Whisky as a reliable component in the Blends of the Highland Distillers for years. It always was “The Can-Dhu-Spirit”.     Kommentar: Er startet mit einem wundervollen Geruch mit viel Sherry und Nüssen. Die Süße hält sich zuerst im Hintergrund. Auf der Zunge zeigt er seine 18 Jahre deutlich. Er ist toll gereift und überzeugt wieder mit Oloroso Sherry und den dazugehörigen Nüssen mit toller Eiche und dunklen Früchten. Gewürze gesellen sich hinzu. Die Süße kommt immer wieder durch. Sehr guter Whisky. Was man bei dem Preis aber auch erwarten darf. Mit dem kann man sich lange beschäftigen.

    Yep-kein „billiger“ Whisky - aber für das Geld bekommt man aber auch ein wirklich durch und durch leckeren „Freund“ -mit dem Glas fühle ich mich wohl und gleichzeitig wird mir nicht langweilig….
