Arran Machrie Moor is dedicated to the beautiful moorland on the west coast of the Isle of Arran, criss-crossed by mighty rock formations and bearing the same name. According to legend, the legendary king Fingal tied his favourite dog Bran to one of these stones. This uncharacteristically smoky whisky is dedicated to this special piece of land on the Isle of Arran. Since 2018, the cask strength edition has been part of the distillery's standard range.

The Distillery:
The Lochranza distillery is located on the Isle of Arran, after which it was initially named. In 2019, Lagg, the second distillery on the island, opened. As a result, Arran renamed itself Lochranza to better distinguish it. However, the Single Malt Whisky is still available under the Arran brand.

Kommentar: Die frischen (eterisch-eukalyptus-minz) Noten sind fantastisch. Schöner Lagerfeuerrauch. Leider ist mir die Orangennote etwas zu limonadig. Super PLV. Freu mich darauf den 10er davon zu verkosten.

Aroma: Süß (Puderzucker), intensive Vanille, Zitrus, milder Rauch (angenehmem, Richtung Lagerfeuer). Keine Früchte.
Geschmack: Wahnsinnig süß, Marshmellow, Rauch im Hintergrund (Schinken stimmt). Keine Jugend. Sehr gut ausbalanziert. Frucht habe ich kaum.
Abgang: Lang, süß bleibend.
Kommentar: Einfach, aber sehr gut gemacht. Komplexität ist nicht zu erwarten, aber dafür ist er sehr gut gemacht. Ein Raucher für Einsteiger, der nicht überfordert. Er bestätigtg meine positive Meinung zu Arran. Es zeigt sich wieder der herausragende Brennereicharakter. Ein top PLV. Daher bei um die 40 EUR 4 Sterne.
