The whisky distillery of the same name is located in the heart of Speyside in Ballindalloch, not far from Tomintoul, the highest village in Scotland. We invite you to taste the soft and malty-sweet creations with Ben Lüning and tasting specialist Patrick Ahluwalia from Kirsch Import on 26 January 2024 at 19:00 in German . The tasting in English with Iain Forteath, the Master Blend from Tomintoul, will take place immediately afterwards at 20:00 . You can look forward to three experts, four delicious bottlings from the Speyside distillery and another enjoyable Whisky.de live stream.
The live tasting has already taken place. However, you still have the opportunity to purchase this delicious compilation as a set. You can find the video of the live stream directly here in the article or on the Whisky.de YouTube channel.

Kommentar: Unkompliziert und geschmeidig.

Aroma: Berries Sweet Sherry Cherry Rote Früchte und brauner Zucker. Dazu angenehm fruchtige Sherrynoten.

Geschmack: Sherry Sweet Chocolate Wieder deutlich Sherry und süße Milchschokolade. Durch die 40% leider etwas schwach.

Abgang: Sweet Sherry Dark Chocolate Spices Oak Süß und sherrylastig, die Schokolade ist nun eher auf der dunklen Seite. Ein paar Gewürze etwas Eiche kommen dazu.

Kommentar: deutliche Steigerung gegenüber dem Tomintoul 10, obwohl NAS. Aber durch die 40% leider auch verschenktes Potential. Vom Preis her fair.

Aroma: Weinnoten, obwohl kein Weinfass verwendet wurde. Dunkler Sherry, Gewürze.

Geschmack: Leicht (man spürt die 40%) aber auch hier weinbetont und eher auf der süßen Seite. Eher dunkle Früchte und recht gewürzbetont. Holz ist kaum spürbar, bzw. gut eingebunden.

Abgang: Mittelang und weich.

Kommentar: Sherry hätte ich hier weniger vermutet, eher würde ich auf eine Weinfassreifung tippen. Recht eindimensional, aber gefällig. Ein Sherrybombe, sondern eher ein gewürzbetonter leichter Dram. Für einen NAS in der mittleren Preisklasse.
