Bradan Orach translates as 'Golden Salmon'. The distillery was founded in 1897 in a valley between Elgin and Rothes. Speyburn uses fresh spring water from the Granty Bur'n, a tributary of the River Spey. The gift box includes two handy glasses for tasting in company.

John and Edward Hopkins, two brothers from the local area, founded Speyburn distillery in 1897. The brothers were determined that the site would be established in 1897, as it was Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.
