The basis of this bottling is the Gold of Mauritius Dark Rum, which was matured for five years in the solera method in sweet wine barrels. Gold of Mauritius rum is produced in the north of the island using local molasses. This is distilled on Colums stills and then stored in South African barrels. The good climatic conditions and the choice of barrels ensure a great variety of flavours even after a short maturing period.
