Glenturret Triple Wood is matured in two types of sherry casks in addition to bourbon casks. Glenturret is the oldest whisky distillery still operating in Scotland. In 2020, the core range of four bottlings and the design were revised. The fine decanters were designed by Glenturret's new part-owner, the French luxury goods company Lalique.

Glenturret is one of the oldest still producing distillery there is in Scotland. Its history traces back to some smugglers in 1775. Sometimes it is called the Disney of Whisky, as the visitor centre is so nice and well made.

Aroma: recht süß im ersten Moment, dahinter Vanille und etwas Karamell und Zimt
Geschmack: getrocknete Früchte, Shortbreads, Früchtekuchen und Karamell, insgesamt weniger Süße als erwartet, alle Geschmacksnuancen rund und harmonisch, weich
Abgang: mittellang, Gewürze, etwas Eiche, Vanille und Nüsse
Kommentar: Interessanter Glenturret, deutlich verbessert gegenüber der alten Abfüllung, eventuell durch die paar Vol.% mehr an Alkohol, alles in den Aromen deutlich intensiver, ohne dass die Abfüllung überladen wirkt. Für mich ist das ein bodenständiger Highland Malt, ohne viel Schnickschnack zu einem angenehmen Preis.
