The 10-year-old Glenturret Peat Smoked is the smoky bottling of the Highlands distillery. Glenturret is the oldest whisky distillery still operating in Scotland. In 2020, the core range of four bottlings and the design were revamped. The fine decanters were designed by Glenturret's new part-owner, the French luxury goods company Lalique.

Glenturret is one of the oldest still producing distillery there is in Scotland. Its history traces back to some smugglers in 1775. Sometimes it is called the Disney of Whisky, as the visitor centre is so nice and well made.

Aroma:
Starker Rauch, der Richtung Räucherschinken geht. Leichte Salznote in der Nase. Nach und nachkommt eine Zitrusnote durch.
Geschmack:
Dominierender Rauch mit alkoholischer Strenge und Gewürzen.
Abgang:
Langer und wärmender Abgang, der sehr herbe Noten mit sich bringt. Dazu etwas Eiche.
Kommentar: Ich mag Glenturret und ich mag rauchige Whiskys. Leider schienen meine Erwartungen an diese Flasche zu hoch. Es ist zwar kein schlechter Malt, aber es fehlt völlig die Komplexität, verglichen mit anderen Abfüllungen der Brennerei. Stadtessen gibt’s hier einfach nur einen Rauchhammer.
