Glenmorangie A Tale of Ice Cream is one of the sweetest whisky compositions from the world-famous Highland distillery. The single malt was blended from components matured in former, first-fill bourbon casks and a whisky matured in high-vanillin casks. For the high-vanillin casks, new oak casks were specially toasted for the first time in order to concentrate the fine vanilla flavour on the oak surface so that it is passed on to the single malt in the best possible way. The creation process for these special casks was specially designed by the Glenmorangie creation team and Dr Bill Lumsden. This involved experimenting with different toasted woods before selecting the casks accordingly. The end result is a successful homage to the ice cream parlours of this world.

The stretch of land in the Northern Highland on which Glenmorangie stands has been the site for alcohol production (mostly illicit) since the Middle Ages, setting a formidable legacy. Glenmorangie was founded in 1843, although operation didn’t start until 1849.

Kommentar: Trifft das Thema sehr gut, meine Notes: starke Vanille, Karamell, Stracciatella Eis, etwas Zimt, eine schöne leichte Eichenwürze, bisschen Citrus, bisschen Mandarine und Aprikose, sehr sahnig und cremig im Mund. Gefährlich lecker. Wem die 85€ nicht an den Popo gebacken sind....unbedingt zuschlagen, ist meiner Meinung richtig gut gelungen

Kommentar: Wie ein Vorgänger schon schrieb - nicht der Beste aus der "Tale Of..." Reihe - aber definitiv sehr interessant und mal was anderes, sehr untypisch. Vanille ohne Ende bzw Vanillepudding trifft es ganz gut.
