The 18-year-old Glenmorangie The Infinita is one of the distillery's few older bottlings. Matured 70% in bourbon casks, 30% of the single malt is finished in sherry casks. The malts are then reunited, which emphasises the sweet and fruity distillery flavour with floral accents. The packaging was made from recycled material, reducing the weight of the bottle by 12% in the interests of sustainability. This bottling stands for luxury, opulence and mature whisky craftsmanship.

Aroma: Würzige und karamellisierte Zitrusfrüchte verbinden sich mit komplexen Noten, floralen Akzenten und einer Mischung aus Geißblatt, Narzisse und Jasmin.
Geschmack: Mild-ölige Textur, nussig und würzig. Anklänge von Datteln und Feigen folgen mit einem Hauch Holzrauch.
Abgang: Lang mit der Süße von Trockenfrüchten, mit trockenen Facetten der Oloroso-Sherryaromen.

Aroma: lieblich sanfte Nase, frisch und fruchtig, ausbalanciert und harmonisch, der Sherry meldet sich ganz zart
Geschmack: im Geschmack seidig weich mit Früchten, schön ausgeglichen, mild, aber trotzdem komplex; beim zweiten Schluck kommt eine Würze
Abgang: im Abgang kommt etwas wie Lindenblütentee, was diesen Whisky total einzigartig macht

Kommentar: Hmmm, also ich muss mir wirklich etwas Zeit lassen mit den Bewertungen... :-)
Als ich diese Flasche öffnete und das erste Glas probierte, dachte ich... Puhhhh, eher etwas für Whisky Sour ;-)
Einige Tage später wollte ich auf Nummer sicher gehen und hab ihn noch einmal probiert und siehe da.... Besser, viel besser !!!
Inzwischen würde ich sagen, ein ausgezeichneter Whisky !
Sehr kräftig und, zumindest für mich, nichts für jeden Tag.
Von der Qualität würde ich ihn in die Klasse eines Glenlivet 18 Jahre einordnen.
Mir gefallen trotzdem die Balvenie's (16 Jahre) besser, da milder und fruchtiger, aber dieser ist alles andere als für Whisky Sour - ein ausgezeichneter, kräftiger Tropfen !!!
