For the Wine Cask Series, Billy Walker, the mastermind behind the Glenallachie distillery, selected special barrique barrels pre-filled with wine in which the Single Malts were refined. The 9-year-old whisky creation was finished in red wine casks from Portugal's Douro Valley. The Alto Douro is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world. The wines from this region have a protected designation of origin (DOC) and are among the best in the world.
