Product description
Trois Rivières VSOP Reserve Speciale Rhum from the traditional Trois Rivières distillery in Martinique was blended from special rums that matured for at least 4 years in oak barrels. Nicolas Fouquet, a minister under King Louis XIV, founded the Trois Rivières plantation in 1660. The plantation is one of the oldest in Martinique. It is located along a beach road in Sainte-Luce and can be recognised from afar by its striking windmill, which offers an impressive view of the Caribbean Sea. Since 1785, Trois Rivières has not only been growing sugar cane but also producing rhum agricole, making it one of the oldest active distilleries in the world. Today, the distillery not only produces Trois Rivières, but also La Mauny and Rhum Duquense. Each of these brands has its own distillation plant and uses sugar cane from its own fields, resulting in distinctly different flavour profiles.
