Taste Citrus with renewed smoky vanilla and toffee flavours and notes of green fruits transition into roasted coffee beans with clove and nutmeg.
Finish Typical earthy peat smoke with salty butterscotch and burnt heather.

Product description
Octomore 14.1 is intended to be the Taste starting point of the 14 series, from which the other two bottlings move. It consists of 100% Concerto barley from the Scottish mainland, which was harvested in 2016. The heavily peated malt gives the bottling a powerful smoke content of 128.9 ppm. After distillation in 2017, the Single Malt was matured for 5 years in first-fill American whiskey casks before it was bottled without cold filtration and without colouring at 59.6% vol.

Zitrus Vanilla Peat Smoke
Überraschend fruchtig komplex, Rauch schön eingebunden, nicht übermäßig dominant wie man vom Papier her erwarten könnte.
Geschmack:
Sehr schön ausbalanciert, Rauch, Eiche/Vanille und Zitrusfrucht deutlich wahrnehmbar, Noten von Lakritz und leichte Salzigkeit kommen hinterher. Auch durch die Fassstärke kommt ein sehr starker, sirupartig intensiver Geschmack mit klarer Trennung der unterschiedlichen Aromen. Es ist kein undefinierbarer Mischmasch, sondern wie ein riesiges Wimmelbild mit vielen Details, die man finden/erschmecken kann. Mit ein paar Tropfen Wasser ändert sich der Geschmack deutlich (wie bei fast allen Cask Strength Whiskys natürlich) in Richtung Frucht.
Abgang:
Durch die sirupartige Textur bedeckt der Octomore den Gaumen sehr stark, was zu einem intensiven, fruchtig-rauchigen, sehr lange anhaltenden Abgang führt. Äußerst gut und angenehm.

Einer meiner Lieblingswhiskys, erstaunlich wie klar komplex und ausgewogen
