Product description
The Highland distillery Nc'nean is committed to ecological quality and sustainability. The Nc'nean Organic bottling uses a combination of STR wine casks (55%), bourbon casks (43%) and Oloroso sherry casks (2%). As is customary at Nc'nean, the malt is made purely from organic barley, produced using 100% renewable energy and bottled in recycled glass.

The Nc'nean distillery on the Morvern Peninsula, which opened in March 2017, describes itself as Scotland's first organic Whisky distillery. The name is an abbreviation of Neachneohain, a ghost queen from Gaelic legends, and is pronounced 'Nook-knee-anne'. read more

Kommentar: Gut, etwas längere Lagerung würde bestimmt nicht schaden. Der Verschlusszapfen sitzt zu locker. Optisch schön als Geschenk

Aroma: Sehr milde Noten: Blumig, helle Früchte, getreidig, Frische Nüsse und mehrere Gewürze.

Geschmack: Frisch, fruchtig und dezent würzig: Herbe Vanille mit Orange-, Zitronensirup und Buttermandeln und einem leichtem Weinstich.

Abgang: Mittel. Orange und Zitrone und eine leichte Eiche bringen es zu Ende.

Kommentar: Geschichte, Nachhaltigkeit, Team nur aus Frauen, benannt nach einer Geisterkönigin: gut gemacht. Der Whisky selber hat seine Qualitäten. Ist mir dann aber doch zu jung bzw. von Aroma/Geschmack nicht zu präsent. Das ist das Problem der jungen Brennereien: Alter fehlt! Deswegen versuchen sie es mit guten Fässern aus zu gleichen. Gelingt halt nicht immer. The Hearach oder Ardahoe die können das!
