The refinement of this 15-year-old Single Malt in French Semillon Cadillac white wine casks gives the whisky depth and freshness. The white wine variety from France is not the car of the same name, but the region from which the sweet white wine comes. This Aberfeldy exudes notes of yellow fruits, flowers and a hint of citrus, which combine with the soft, honey-sweet character typical of the distillery.

Kommentar: Im Kern natürlich die von Aberfeldy gewohnten Noten (Stichwort "Honig"), doch die zusätzliche Reifung in Weißweinfässern sowie die extra 3% Alkohol verleihen diesem Whisky eine gehobene Komplexität im Vergleich zum regulären 16-jährigen. Selten einen Scotch erlebt, bei dem Noten wie Orange und Trauben so sehr präsent sind. So süffig süß, ja fast schon lieblich. Da haben die Sémillon-Fässer durchaus ihren Einfluss.
Definitiv ein gelungenes Experiment seitens Aberfeldy und das PLV stimmt besonders für eine limitierte Edition auch. Überlege stark, ob ich noch ein paar Flaschen davon als Vorrat besorge.

Kommentar: Super süffig. Schöne Steigerung zum 12er. Diesen Whisky würde ich mir unfilltriert und ohne Farbstoff mit 46% vol. wünschen.
