The Bruks Vintage Single Malt comes from the Swedish Mackmyra distillery. All the whiskies involved in this vintage edition were distilled in 2008 and matured from then until bottling in 2021 in the 50-metre-deep Bodas mine. 13 years of maturation in bourbon, sherry and fresh Swedish oak casks as well as bourbon casks that previously contained whiskey from a smoky recipe make this Swedish single malt a fruity, creamy flavour experience with a gentle smoky note.

Aroma: Dezent. Zitrus, im Hintergrund Heinekraut, Gewürze
Geschmack: Minze, Heidekraut und Gewürze dominieren, ungewöhnlich aber interessant. Vielleicht die intensivste Minze-Note, die ich bisher in einem Whisky hatte. Startet süß, wird dann aber schnell trocken und holzbetont.
Abgang: Mittellang und trocken.
Kommentar: Interessant ist er auf jeden Fall. Ich finde ihn nicht sonderlich komplex, aber speziell. Auf jeden Fall hätten ihm mehr Volumenprozente gut getan, hier fehlt der Körper. Seltsam finde ich, dass man die stolzen 13 Jahre nicht auf die Flasche schreibt. Ich mag spezielle Whiskies und das ist auf jeden Fall einer. Neben dem nicht optimalen PLV und der zu niedrigen Alkoholvolumen stört mich etwas die Unterkomplexität. Meiner Meinung nach etwas zu holzlastig im Mund.
