Variety Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Fruity, oaky and spicy, later malty with coffee notes, plus dark caramel and some toffee. Fine, slightly oily sultana notes and a hint of baked biscuit dough with fine vanilla.
Taste Mild and balanced, with notes of sultanas in fruit cake, fine oak and some bitter orange. Shortly afterwards, a complex mixture of fine vanilla sweetness, dense toffee and dark caramel develops.
Finish Medium-bodied with slight hints of sweetish smoke, plus the mandarin notes typical of ELSBURN and a hint of mocha.
Maturation Sherry, Port, Madeira, Marsala, Malaga, Grand Cru Bordeaux wine barrels

Product description
The 2023 whisky edition of Elsburn The Journey matured in European oak casks that were previously filled with the finest fortified wines. These included casks containing sherry, port, Madeira, Marsala, Malaga and Grand Cru Bordeaux. The varied composition of the casks resulted in a balanced and fruity Single Malt with spicy notes.
