Sweet Sweet Fruit Fruit Sherry Sherry
Type Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Fruity, oaky and spicy, later malty with coffee notes, plus dark caramel and some toffee. Fine, slightly oily sultana notes and a hint of baked biscuit dough with fine vanilla.
Taste Mild and balanced, with notes of sultanas in fruit cake, fine oak and some bitter orange. Shortly afterwards, a complex mixture of fine vanilla sweetness, dense toffee and dark caramel develops.
Finish Medium-bodied with slight hints of sweetish smoke, plus the mandarin notes typical of ELSBURN and a hint of mocha.
Maturation Sherry, Port, Madeira, Marsala, Malaga, Grand Cru Bordeaux wine barrels

Product description
The 2023 whisky edition of Elsburn The Journey matured in European oak casks that were previously filled with the finest fortified wines. These included casks containing sherry, port, Madeira, Marsala, Malaga and Grand Cru Bordeaux. The varied composition of the casks resulted in a balanced and fruity Single Malt with spicy notes.

Kommentar: Es muss nicht immer ein schottischer Whisky sein. Dieser hier ist eine absolute Empfehlung.

Kommentar: Wunderbarer Whisky, sehr rund und ausgewogen mit süßen Früchten und Gebäck gefolgt von Eichenwürze in einem mittleren Abgang. Süffig süß und einfach lecker.

Aroma: Fruchtig, eichig und würzig, später malzig mit Kaffeenoten, dazu dunkles Karamell und etwas Toffee. Feine, leicht ölige Rosinennoten und ein Hauch von angebackenem Keksteig mit feiner Vanille übernehmen.

Geschmack: Mild und ausgewogen, mit Noten von Rosinen in Früchtekuchen, feiner Eiche und etwas Bitterorange. Kurz darauf entwickelt sich eine komplexe Mischung von feiner Vanillesüße, dichtem Toffee und dunklem Karamell.

Abgang: MIttellang mit leichten Anklängen von süßlichem Rauch, dazu die die für ELSBURN-typischen Mandarinennoten und ein Hauch von Mokka.
