Product description
This Glenallachie was bottled exclusively for Whisky.de's 30th anniversary. It was matured for 11 long years in a single puncheon, which previously contained Oloroso sherry. Puncheon is an old English unit of measurement, in terms of casks, it refers to somewhat wider, stockier types than butts, which also hold 500 litres.

ent: On the palate, this dram reveals a luxurious tapestry of flavors. The influence of the Oloroso sherry puncheon is immediately evident with rich notes of dried fruits, including raisins and figs, intertwined with hints of dark chocolate and a subtle nuttiness. There's a delightful warmth from the sherry cask, complemented by spices like cinnamon and a touch of oak.
The finish is long and satisfying, lingering with a balanced sweetness from the sherry influence and a touch of dried fruits. The oak adds a subtle complexity, bringing depth to the whisky's profile.
Overall Impression:
Is a testament to the art of sherry cask maturation. The 11 years in the Oloroso puncheon have imparted a depth of flavor and complexity that captivates the senses. It's a whisky that balances richness with subtlety, offering layers of fruit, spice, and oak in a harmonious blend.
