Product description

Balblair is located in the small town of Edderton in the Scottish Northern Highlands. The distillery takes its time to produce the Single Malt, which is matured in traditional 'dunnage' warehouses with clay soils. In total, this bottling matured for a quarter of a century in bourbon casks and Spanish oak barrels. In 2019, the distillery introduced a new core range to replace the Core Range, which previously consisted of vintage bottlings.

The Distillery: Balblair

Balblair is one of the most northern distilleries of Scottland. It lies right next to the Dornoch Firth and was established in 1790. The distillery character is best described as 'very fruity and sweet Speyside Malt'. Balblair means fertile valley, but also battlefield. This is traceable to a battle between the Picts and the Vikings many centuries ago. read more

Helles Holz, Sägespäne.
Mild und aromatisch.
Leicht würzig, bitteres Holz.

Ich liebe Balblair,
aber für seinen Preis ist das ein schlechter Witz.
Seit den Vintage Abfüllungen hat Balblair stark abgenommen.

Aroma: Mild mit reifen Aprikosen und Lakritze. Im Hintergrund polierte Eiche und ein Hauch von gewachstem Leder.
Geschmack: Vollmundig mit öligen Zitrusnoten, Schokoladenpralinen und einer leichten Note von frischem Tabak.
Abgang: Wärmend und weich nach Schokolade und Blutorangen.
Fasstyp: Ex-Bourbonfässer und Finish in spanischen Eichenfässern
