Product description
This Arran Single Malt was allowed to mature in a Sauternes sweet wine cask after its maturation in an ex-bourbon cask and thus acquires its golden colour and wonderfully sweet Taste. Only the best casks are selected at the Arran distillery for the wine finish series. The Port Finish and Sauternes Finish bottlings now belong to the so-called Core Range.

The Distillery:
The Lochranza distillery is located on the Isle of Arran, after which it was initially named. In 2019, Lagg, the second distillery on the island, opened. As a result, Arran renamed itself Lochranza to better distinguish it. However, the Single Malt Whisky is still available under the Arran brand.

2019 für 40,-€, noch in der alten Verpackung aber das neue Design und die Inflation rechtfertigen wohl den heutigen Preis. Dafür bekommt man auf jeden Fall einen tollen Whisky. In der Nase ist er schon schön, wegen der 50% mit einem etwas kleineren Schluck kann sich dann der süße Geschmack entfalten der Honigsüß, aber auch sehr schön fruchtig-sauer ist und mit einer tollen Würze abgerundet. Der Abgang ist dann noch ein Highlight, die Würze und eine wohlige mundausfüllende Süße die schon recht lang anhalten, was wohl auch den 50% zu verdanken ist.
Tolle Flasche in dieser Preiskategorie. Wegen des Alkoholgehalts schon besonders, das Finish harmoniert aber auch sehr gut. So gibt es beim Trinken ein sich immer weiter steigernden Genuss. Bin begeistert!
