Amrut whisky has its roots immediately after the end of English colonial rule in 1948, when Indians began to distil their own whisky. Indian mythology tells of gods and demons who mixed the ocean with the help of the mountains in prehistoric times. Suddenly, a golden pot sprang from the water, containing the elixir of life. This they called Amrut. This slightly smoky bottling was bottled exclusively for the European market at cask strength and matured for 7 years.

Aroma:eleganter Sherry, Trockenfrüchte, subtile Rauchnote die erst nach dem probieren zum Vorschein kommt. Leichter Alkohol.

Geschmack:voll, schiebt unverdünnt kräftig an, schöne Sherryaromen, dunkle Früchte.

Abgang: mittellang, kräftig, leicht trocken, Kaffee,minimaler Rauch.

Kommentar: sehr schöner Whisky, in der Komplexität Luft nach oben, die vorhandenen Aromen sind aber Klasse.

Aroma: Dunkle Beeren und Gewürzkuchen, mit einer sehr dezenten Rauchnote.
- Der Alkohol von 60 Vol.% wird erst mit der Zeit deutlicher.
Geschmack: Süß und fruchtig, aber doch nicht so tief ausgeprägt.
Auf der Zunge ist der Alkohol dann doch sehr dominant.
- Die Zugabe von Wasser wird es deutlich angenehmer.
Abgang: Anhaltend; süß-fruchtig und mild, sehr wenig Eiche, kaum Rauch.
Kommentar:
Wasser sollte hier auf jeden Fall zugegeben werden!
Erst dann kann sich die Süße voll entfalten. - Der Rauch ist hier nur eine ganz dezente Komponente.

Im Vergleich mit anderen Amrut recht teuer; dafür nicht herausragend.
