The youngest blend in this Don Pancho Origen blend is matured for 8 years in American oak barrels (from Kentucky). With this rum, Don Pancho wanted to recreate one of the flavour experiences he had in Cuba when he was young. At that time, rums aged for 7-8 years were the oldest you could get. Señor Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez Perez has worked in the rum world for over five decades. His career began in Cuba with Havana Club, where he last worked as Master Blender. In the early 1990s, he moved to Panama, where he developed the famous Ron Abuelo together with Varela Hermanos. In the years that followed, his experience and sensory skills led him to be involved in various brands, including Grander Rum, Ron de Jeremy, Panama Red, Cana Brava, Selvarey Rum, Zafra and others. At the age of 75, Don Pancho then presented his masterpiece, the first rum to bear his name: Origenes by Don Pancho. The rum reflects the Cuban soul of Don Pancho.
