Romero & Sons use the same fermentation, distillation and ageing methods as founder Alfonso Romero did in the last century. In addition to molasses and sugar cane juice, they are increasingly focussing on sugar cane honey, a rare, boiled-down juice of the sweet grass. The result is authentic, full-bodied bottlings without additives or chill filtration, characterised by impeccable technique and quality. The 12-year-old Romero & Sons is the result of two generations. This single blended rum combines pot still rum made from sugar cane juice and sugar cane honey distilled by Master Distiller Johan Romero with old molasses rum distilled on column stills by the distillery's founder and father, Napoleon Romero. The final result, matured in French and American oak barrels, is smooth, fruity and warming.
