Beschrijving van het product
This William Hinton rum was aged for at least six years in French oak barrels before being further matured for another year in barrels of various origins, including Madeira wine barrels. The result is a distinctive and complex rum.
Founded in 1845 by William Hinton, the distillery in Portugal gained a leading role in the sugar cane harvest in Madeira over time. State-of-the-art sugar cane mills, also called 'Engenho', helped to process 600 tons of sugar cane per day. After the distillery closed in 1985, it was reopened in 2006 by William Hinton's heirs with the aim of restoring the original distillery with the help of an alambic still and producing a variety of rums.
