Whitlaw is part of the Vikings series bottled by Signatory Vintage for the German importer. Each of the single cask bottlings bears the portrait of a wild Viking on the label designed by Tom Thiel. The pseudonym refers to a well-known distillery on the Orkney Islands. The 10-year-old Single Malt matured in first fill sherry butts and second fill Bordeaux hogsheads. The limited edition is uncoloured, non-chill-filtered and bottled at cask strength exclusively for the German market.

Kommentar: Whitlaw wird oft als Synonym für Highland Park verwendet, wobei diese Abfüllung für mich kein typischer Higland Park wäre. Vielmehr hinterlassen die beiden Fässer sehr deutliche Spuren - im positiven Sinne gemeint! Das Etikett zeigt den 3. Reiter der Apokalypse. Er steht für Tod und Hunger und die Waage symbolisiert Teuerung und Knappheit...
