This Tullibardine was bottled exclusively for Whisky.de's 30th anniversary and received a finish in a combination of three types of casks. It was finished in Moscatel, White Port and Sauternes casks. The limited edition was named after Sir William Murray, the second Marquess of Tullibardine, who fought for the Jacobites in the Battle of Sheriffmuir on the Ochil Hills above the Tullibardine distillery on 13 November 1715, and was distilled back in 2007.

Tullibardine is actually not the oldest Scottish Distillery but regarding the first step of the Whisky production it is one of the Methuselahs of the business: The visit of King James 4th of Scotland of the local brewery situated here before is known as the first recorded purchase of Beer. That was in 1488, long before in 1949 the first spirit was distilled here at Tullibardine in Perthshire. lees meer

Kommentar: Die hohe Bewertung und die Lagerung machen neugierig, um so größer die Enttäuschung: Ich rieche und schmecke vor allem altes Maschinenöl einer Kohlenlok, wie aus dem Museum. Für mich ein ungenießbarer Stoff. Mit Wasser wird es kaum erträglicher.
Ein Whisky zum Abgewöhnen.
Meine Whisky-Erfahrung ergibt sich aus 30 Jahren Genuß.
Dieser Whisky war für mich ein abschreckendes Experiment.
