Old Pulteney Port is the second whisky in the Coastals series, which matured in port wine casks from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal in addition to ex-Bourbon casks. The fruity and pleasantly sweet Single Malt presents itself with a slightly higher drinking strength and the typical elegant, salty distillery flavour of Old Pulteney.

For a long time Pulteney could be called the most northern distillery on the Scottish mainland. When Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso opened in 2013 they took over this title, but Pulteney hasn’t lost its attraction on Whisky lovers. The coastal style of the Old Pulteney Whisky (as the Whiskies from Pulteney are called) is a very unique one and the releases use to be very well judged by the Whisky experts.

Kommentar: absolute Enttäuschung für mich. Kaum Komplexität , Süße ok, hinten raus Flach und scharf. Nase recht dünn.

Aroma: sehr fruchtig, Sultaninen, Orange, Rosinen und vielleicht Vanille ? leicht salzig , etwas Karamell
Geschmack: sehr süßer angenehmer Whisky, die Früchte Sultaninen und Orange schmeckt man sofort.
Abgang: Ein langer, warmer angenehmer Abgang mit einem lang anhaltenden Hauch von Würze, und als Portweinliebhaber werden Sie Ihre Freude haben.
Kommentar: Der Whisky hat natürlich einen Bonus bei mir, weil es die erste Destille war, die ich mit meinen Freunden besucht habe. Ich kann jedem nur empfehlen, sich diese Destille anzutun und einen Rundgang zu buchen. Sehr , sehr schöne Anlage.
