This Highland Cattle is the second bottling of the Whisky.de Blended Malt in the new design. The 11-year-old is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky that was actively designed by Whisky.de in a creative process in terms of Taste. It was matured mainly in oak casks that previously held sherry. A small proportion of first fill ex-bourbon casks rounds off the Taste. The art is to blend the sherry and ex-bourbon casks of the different distilleries in such a way that the ideal balance between the complexity of the malt whiskies and the individually maturing casks is achieved. The result is a complex and strongly sherried whisky with a dark fruity and complex character.

Aroma: Sherry Vanilla Mint Almonds Der Sherry ist als erstes erkennbar, aber es findet sich auch deutlich Vanille, eine leicht frische Minzigkeit und feuchte Marzipan Rohmasse.

Geschmack: Sweet Sherry Spices Süß und wieder deutliche Sherrynoten, dazu ein paar Gewürze. Im Mund eher etwas leicht und verhalten.

Abgang: Sherry Cherry Sweet Spices Herb Oak Süßliche Fracht aus Sherry und Gewürzen klingt ein wenig nach. Der Gaumen wird trockener, es macht sich ein wenig Eichenbitterkeit breit.

Kommentar: ordentlich komponierter Blended Malt mit guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Vielleicht nicht unbedingt ein Komplexitätsmonster (und auf der Zunge etwas schwach), aber sehr süffig und liefert das, was man erwarten darf.

Kommentar: Nach unzähligen Single-Malts (deren Geschmack oder Wert sich mir offenbar nicht erschließt), habe ich endlich "meinen" Whisky gefunden. Danke für dieses tolle Produkt. Wird in meine Stammliste aufgenommen und habe direkt nochmal nachbestellt :)
