The 12-year-old Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon that is popular with connoisseurs. It comes straight from the barrel without chill-filtering and at a strong 62.4% vol. A drop of still water is recommended for tasting.

The Heaven Hill distillery is relativity young for a big Whiskey distillery. It was founded two years after the prohibition ended. In 1935 the Old Heavenhill Springs was founded by a group of investors and the Shapira brothers. It was a great risk to invest in such a business and hard times lay ahead for the Heaven Hill distillery.

Kommentar: Das neue Batch mit 62,4 ABV ist ein sehr angenehmer Zeitgenosse. Klar, der Alkohol drückt ordentlich, aber immer noch überraschend sanft. Die Aromen werden mit ein wenig Wasser offener und leicht floral bzw Parfumartig, aber nie unangenehm, Im Mund eine wunderschön Eichige - Süße mit Vanille Touch. Der Abgang ist lang und dunkel, mit eichigen, süßen Anklängen. Glatte 5 Punkte
