Bowmore's Single Malts are moderately smoky by Islay standards at around 35 ppm. The use of sherry casks also gives the bottlings a complex and fruity character. The distillery itself describes this whisky not only as its well-known standard bottling but also as 'vanilla ice cream by the campfire'.
