Have you ever tried Japanese whisky? In our Japan Live Tasting, we present three whiskies that have found their way to us from the land of the rising sun. On the tasting menu are: Yamazaki, matured for 12 years in various oak casks, which is one of the best international whiskies from 25 years of Whisky.de, the Suntory Hibiki Harmony, which was created as a blend of the best Malt and Grain whiskies from the Suntory distilleries and bottled in a special bottle design, and the popular Suntory Toki Blend, which focuses on the Single Malt from Hakushu and the heavy Chita Grain.
Ben and Horst Lüning invite you to the live tasting of the three Suntory bottlings on 23.09.2022 at 19.00 for the German version and at 20.00 for the English version. You will find the video of the tasting free of charge here in the article after publication!

Japanische Krönung

„Hibiki“ von Suntory - Worte, Titel und Namen, die die Augen eines jeden Whiskyfans freudig aufleuchten lassen. Und vielleicht das letzte Ausrufezeichen, warum aus Japan momentan ziemlich deutlich die besten Whiskys der Welt kommen - Mutterland Schottland mal ausgenommen…

Dieser „Hibiki“ ist ein Monolith in der Branche - und ganz klar einer der feinsten Tropfen, die ich je trinken durfte. Voller japanischer Eiche und leichten Sherrynoten, etwas Zischen der Yuzu und hochwertiger Vanille. Meisterhaft. Orange küsst Honig. Marmeladig, exotisch, perfekt. Ein Blend für die Götter. Vielleicht fehlt für die volle Punktzahl das ganz Besondere, der Kick, der letzte Charakterkniff. Aber wenn man dermaßen rund ist, braucht man eigentlich keine Sonderlocken, kein Gimmick…

Fazit: völlig zurecht eine Legende aus dem Land der aufgehenden Sonne - den „Hibiki“ sollte jeder in seinem Leben mal genossen haben!
