Product description
Trois Rivières Triple Millesime Rhum is made from fresh sugar cane juice using the traditional column still method in Martinique. Triple Millesime stands for the three vintages (2001, 2005, 2011) contained in this bottling. Nicolas Fouquet, a minister under King Louis XIV, founded the Trois Rivières plantation in 1660. The plantation is one of the oldest in Martinique. It is located along a beach road in Sainte-Luce and can be recognised from afar by its striking windmill, which offers an impressive view of the Caribbean Sea. Since 1785, Trois Rivières has not only been growing sugar cane but also producing rhum agricole, making it one of the oldest active distilleries in the world. Today, the distillery not only produces Trois Rivières, but also La Mauny and Rhum Duquense. Each of these brands has its own distillation plant and uses sugar cane from its own fields, resulting in distinctly different flavour profiles.
