Product description
The Trois Rivières Cuvée de L'Océan Rhum Blanc Agricole was produced from a special sugar cane juice. The sugar cane is grown on the Anse Trabaud estate. For cultivation, the farmers and labourers use an ancient and traditional method in which the seedlings are pressed into the water-soaked soil with their feet. The rich and unique terroir gives the agriculturally produced white rum particularly mineral and salty notes. Nicolas Fouquet, a minister under King Louis XIV, founded the Trois Rivières plantation in 1660. The plantation is one of the oldest in Martinique. It is located along a beach road in Sainte-Luce and can be recognised from afar by its striking windmill, which offers an impressive view of the Caribbean Sea. Since 1785, Trois Rivières has not only been growing sugar cane but also producing rhum agricole, making it one of the oldest active distilleries in the world. Today, the distillery not only produces Trois Rivières, but also La Mauny and Rhum Duquense. Each of these brands has its own distillation plant and uses sugar cane from its own fields, resulting in distinctly different flavour profiles.
