The Pogues is an Irish folk-punk music group that was founded over 30 years ago. Their music inspired John O'Connel, the owner of West Cork, to create this blend, which is a tribute to the song of the same name from one of the band's albums. The blend consists of whiskeys distilled in Ireland and England and matured in bourbon casks.

The West Cork Distillery is located, as the name suggests, in the west of Cork in Ireland. In 2003, the distillery was established by three childhood friends without the prospect of much success. But the distillery turned out better than expected: today, more than 100 people, most of them from Cork, work there to produce and market Whiskeys, Gins and Vodka.

Aroma: Süße Vanille und reichhaltige Noten von Eichenholz, ausgewogen mit einer süß-fruchtigen Malznote.
Geschmack: Erneut reichhaltig mit würzigen Holznoten, dazu Akzente von süßem Mais, ausbalanciert mit süßem Malz, Vanille und Zitrus.
Abgang: Langanhaltend mit abschließenden Noten von süßer Vanille und Toffee.

Abgang: erst noch süß dann trocken werdend und weg!!
Kommentar: Die Flasche ist ganz hübsch, Whiskey kann man trinken, ich würde ihn aber unter Tullamore und Jameson einordnen und damit ist er dann tatsächlich zu teuer.
