Product description
Teeling Blackpitts is named after the district of Dublin where the city's malt houses used to be located. This is because, unlike other Teeling whiskeys, the Single Malt is made from malt dried over peat smoke. The typical Irish triple distillation reduces its medicinal notes and emphasises its smoky character. The smoky Teeling is matured in Bourbon and Sauternes wine casks.

The Distillery: Teeling
The Teeling distillery has been in the Whiskey business since 1782. The founder of the first distillery was Walter Teeling and he set up his small distillery in the Marrowbone Lane in Dublin. The current distillery is just a few hundred meters away from this original location.

Kommentar: ich bin nicht der große Verbalerotiker, aber hier muss ich was Schreiben. Ein außergewöhnlicher irischer Whisky. Siedle ihn beim Rauch in der Nähe des Lagavullin 16 Jahre an, aber weit entfernt vom Laphroig oder Ardbeg 10. Mittlerweile bin ich persönlich von den Peaty Whiskys weggekommen. Dieser Whisky ist die Ausnahme. Trotz der 46% keinerlei Alkoholschärfe, auch nicht im Abgang. Angenehm, Eher Eiche mit einer gewissen Trockenheit und Cremigkeit. Beim Geruch bilde ich mir ein, doch den Sauterne im Hintergrund zu riechen. ( dawiderspreche ich dem Tastingvideo) So eine milde Frische. Rauchgeruch beim Korken deutlich vorhanden, beim Nosing jedoch dezenter Rauch. Ich bin ein grosser Teeling Fan. ( ich finde den Small Batch in Punkto Preis Leistung unübertroffen). Dieser Whisky fällt jedoch wegen seiner rauchigen Note aus dem üblichen Rahmen. Kein Whisky für jeden Tag, aber empfehlenswert.

Geschmack: kräftiger Antritt, früchtige süß Ananas, würzig, harmonisch, komplex
Abgang: lang anhaltend
