Vergleich Distillers Reserve mit Hakushu 12 Jahre
Farblich sehe ich keinen Unterschied, sie kommen auch beide mit 43%.
Die Nase ähnelt ebenfalls, auch wenn ich mir einbilde, der 12er sei etwas voller, kräftiger - aber wir reden hier über Nuancen.
Sie wirken beide mild, die typische Torfnote nur angedeutet. Der DR etwas floral, der 12er mit leicht kräftiger Holznote. Über beiden eine leicht, aromatische Süße.
Beim DR kommt jetzt das Holz, angenehm. Leicht und frisch, nicht bitter oder überreif. Die süße Note ist weg, es bleiben die Fassnoten. Der Abgang kurz und wohlig.
Beim 12 Jahre fällt die Torfnote auf, die schmeckte ich beim anderen nicht. Eine Torfnote, die aber sehr dezent auf der Zunge liegt. Kräftig, aromatisch, vollmundig.
Beide haben ihre Berechtigung, wirken kunstvoll gemacht, wie man das bei den Japanern gewohnt ist. Der 12 Jahre vertritt die Marke vielleicht etwas markanter.
