The Swedish distillery Smögen is named after a picture-book fishing village on the Skagerrak, the part of the North Sea between Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The distillery was founded by the lawyer Pär Caldenby, who is also a whisky enthusiast and author. In the small distillery, he and his team produce strongly smoky Single Malt whiskies from Bourbon and sherry casks. The 10-year-old Smögen Single Malt was made from strongly peaty smoked malt of the Optic Type and received a 2-year finish in Tawny Port casks. Bottled at cask strength!

Aroma: Dichte Rauchschwaden steigen aus Ihrem Glas und machen langsam Platz für saftige Sultaninen und Datteln, honigglasierte Nüsse und Zimt. Saftige Ananas und Kirschen im Hintergrund.
Geschmack: Vollmundig und intensiv mit viel Rauch. Reife Orangen, Pflaumen und Brombeeren spielen mit Sultaninen, gesalzenen Erdnüssen und erdigen Akzenten. Weißer Pfeffer, Kräutertee mit viel Honig und Backgewürze runden den Genuss ab.
Nachklang: Langsam klingen der wuchtige Rauch, saftige Früchte und feine Würze ab. Eine dezente Trockenheit bleibt zurück.
