The Rabbit Hole Distillery is based in Louisville, Kentucky USA. The Hole Dareringer Bourbon was inspired by the wife of the distillery's founder Kaveh Zamanian. The mashbill consists of 65% corn, 25% wheat and 10% malted barley. The bourbon was not only matured in toasted and charred American white oak barrels, but was also finished in handcrafted Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Spain. Bottled at 46.5%

Die Nase hält sich etwas zurück. Der typische Bourbon Geruch nicht sehr ausgeprägt. Dafür eher schöne Fassaromen.
Erst im Mund dann die süßlichen Noten, ohne aber zu süß zu wirken. Vom Oloroso Finish hätte ich mehr erwartet. War wohl recht kurz.
Dennoch sehr ausgewogen, wenngleich mir der ohne Finish besser gefiel...

Aroma: Sherrynoten und Akzente von Karamell, dazu sanfte Nuancen von Kirschen.
Geschmack: Rosinen, Johannisbeeren und Kirschen, es folgt ein Hauch von Mandel, zum Ende hin Vanille.
Abgang: Leicht und angenehm trocken.

Geschmack: Bourbon mit Oloroso und PX-Sherry, herrlich süss. Meiner Meinung nach geht es nicht mehr süßer. Ich bin selber erstaunt, dass ich es so sehr liebe.
Abgang: Süßer Bourbon mit einem Hauch dunkler saurer Sherry-Abgang.
Kommentar: mein absoluter Lieblingsbourbon, nachdem ich mindestens 15 weitere Bourbons in diesem Jahr gekauft und ausprobiert habe. Der günstigste davon war übrigens ein Jack Daniel's Bonded, danach nur aufwärts im Preis.
